Frequently Asked Questions

We try our best to answer your questions here, but if you have any more, please contact one of our elders here.

Read about the gospel here.

We meet as a local fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ who is the Head of the church. The church is important because it is part of the body of Christ and allows us to gather as imperfect people redeemed by a perfect God (Eph. 1:22-23).

Feel free to wear whatever is comfortable and modest. Many either wear business casual or Sunday best.

We don’t practice any formal ritual for adding new members to the church. Instead, we recognize members as being “in fellowship” which means they regularly engage in church affairs and are subject to the authority of the elders. For more information, we recommend reaching out to our elders.

Great question! If you are a believer, whether you’re just checking us out or a member here in regular attendance, we highly encourage you to participate in the bread and the cup with us! However, if you are under church discipline or are not used to practicing it, we ask that you pass the emblem to the next person and not partake of them. There’s no need to be embarrassed or feel out of place!

If you are not a believer or are unsure if you are saved, we ask that you also pass the emblems and just silently observe what takes place. If you have questions, feel free to talk to the elders afterward. Again, there’s no judgement among the elders or anyone in the meeting, so you do not need to feel out of place or ashamed for not taking the emblems.

We are led by a group of elders who serve together to shepherd the assembly under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We understand that “pastor” is one of the many spiritual gifts rather than a recognized office.

We are non-denominational. Our church seeks to follow New Testament principles and we fellowship in Christ being led by the Holy Spirit. Our roots are in a small group called the Open Brethren Movement that emphasizes New Testament principles and practices. Although the names are similar, we are not associated with the Plymouth Brethren cult in any way.
